樹型及特性:樹姿為半直立性(有一說半直立性-直立性)(亦有說直立性).開張性.豐產性，樹型:小型,高175cmX幅130cm(亦有一說6 -8 ft .高 by 5 ft . 寬), 果實成熟期較一致(收穫期較集中).可短期內採收大部分果實,適合居家或商業栽培種植.亦可機械採收

收穫期: 早生種(兔眼品系中最早收穫品種)(收穫期比Beckyblue略慢幾天) (各地不同，僅供參考)

Chilling requirement: 400 hours to 450 hours.
Ripening period: Ripens late May to early June in the southern growing region.
Bloom period: Blooms late February to early March in southern growing region. Blooms and small fruit may require frost protection to prevent injury from late spring freezes. Climax is a widely planted early maturing blueberry variety that has become a standard to which other varieties are compared.
Plant yield, vigor and growth habits: Plants are productive, upright and open.
Berry qualities: Berries are small to medium size with good color, flavor and small dry scars. Fruit firmness is excellent.
Harvest tehnique: Has concentrated ripening, may be harvested in two pickings. Excellent for mechanical harvesting for fresh market.
Drawbacks: Has a poor cropping history due late spring freeze damage and poor leafing. As a result, popularity is declining among many growers.
Breeding history: Released Jointly by the University of Georgia and United States Department of Agriculture-ARS in 1974; public release

Early fruiting variety that requires 450 to 500 chilling hours maturing normally in the middle of June. Plants have upright growth habits with more of an open spreading crown than other varieties. Climax has been used for years in commercial, pick your own, and home settings. Berries are firm with excellent flavor, good color, and a very small stem scar. Suggested pollinators are Austin and Premier.

HEAT-TOLERANT, DROUGHT-TOLERANT FOR SOUTHERN GARDENS

CLIMAX - Early rabbiteye type. Large berries yield up to 9 quarts of large fruit per plant. Spreading habit, grows to 9 ft .

Climax produces a medium size blueberry that is exceptionally sweet. This blueberry bush is consistent in its productive characteristics making it ideal for commercial planting. This variety is one commonly seen in grocery stores, although organically nurtured, home grown fruits, tend to have more moisture, sugar and antioxidants. The Climax blueberry plant sometimes will flower in January or February forming large clusters of blueberries that form in early May. .

Climax is a southern type blueberry with large berries ripening uniformly with a sweet flavor. Ripens about 1 month before Powderblue. Leaves have a blue hint and are very ornamental, turning red in the fall. Everyone should have a Climax in their backyard! Native Zones 7-9.
